‘Shifting Gears’ Season 2 Exclusive: Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias Stops By the Garage to Roast Jay Leno With Tim Allen
Shifting Gears is welcoming another famous face to Matt’s (Tim Allen) garage this week in the form of Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias.
In a brand new DECIDER-exclusive clip from Season 2 Episode 3, the stand-up comedian is playing himself and throwing out numbers — and punches at Jay Leno — alongside Allen’s character. In the scene, the two are sparring over one of Matt’s beloved cars, which Iglesias has his eye on and is trying to snag from Matt.

“My mechanic told me all about this bus, even showed me a picture of the engine,” Iglesias says as Matt responds, “How many of these do you own?” To that, the funny guy retorts that he has “about 32” and it would be 33, “but Jay Leno is vicious at a car auction.”
At that point, Allen and Iglesias break out into their best impressions of the former Tonight Show host, who appeared as himself in Season 1 of the ABC sitcom and is a noted car enthusiast. “Sorry I outbid ya, I didn’t see you standing right there next to me,” Matt says as Iglesias adds, “Yeah, he didn’t see me, the only Mexican at Sotheby’s.”
After Matt pivots and tells Iglesias that while he is flattered over his interest in the car, it’s not for sale, the comedian doubles down and tries to tell Matt to name his price. When that still doesn’t work, he makes an offer that any Fluffy fan would take in a heartbeat. Unluckily for him, Matt is not a fan. “I’ll even throw in a pair of comedy tickets, backstage,” he says as Matt responds hilariously, “You’re going backwards.”
Iglesias and Leno are certainly not the only celebs to stop by the set of the Allen and Kat Dennings-led sitcom thus far. Season 2 Episode 2 just welcomed Los Angeles Dodgers all-star Mookie Betts, and Episode 1 saw a Home Improvement reunion with Patricia Richardson, Richard Karn, and Debbe Dunning.
DECIDER also recently sat down with star Seann William Scott, who shared that on top of the incredible guest stars they’ve already welcomed in Season 1 and just a few episodes of Season 2, he has his sights on someone else stopping by Matt’s garage in Hollywood.
“We’ll never get her because she’s probably booked for the next 30 years but Jennifer Coolidge. Just because she’s awesome. Kat worked with on her show [Two Broke Girls], and we worked together [in American Pie], but we never actually worked together. I think that would be amazing. But I do think she’s just a little busy,” Scott said.
Here’s hoping the ABC higher-ups, Allen, and Dennings can pull some strings to make it happen. In the meantime, we’ll just be watching new episodes as they air. Shifting Gears Season 2 Episode 3 airs at 8:00 p.m. The first two episodes are now streaming on Hulu.
