‘Selling The OC’ Season 4: Why Did Kayla Cardona, Ali Harper, Lauren Shortt, Alexandra Rose, And More Agents Leave The Show?
Selling The OC is back for its highly-anticipated Season 4, but after some serious casting switch-ups, The Oppenheim Group’s Newport Beach office looks a lot different this year…
Season 4 will still star fan-favorite real estate agents Alex Hall, Polly Brindle, Gio Helou, Austin Victoria, and Brandi Marshall. The O Group also welcomes three fresh faces this season: Kaylee Ricciardi, Fiona Belle, and Ashtyn Zerboni. But the Selling Sunset spinoff said goodbye to six (!!!) agents in Season 4. Technically seven, if you count Tyler Stanaland, who no longer works in the office.

While Tyler appears on the show alongside his former colleagues again, O Group realtor associates Alexandra Jarvis, Alexandra Rose, Ali Harper, Kayla Cardona, Lauren Shortt, and Sean Palmieri do not appear in Season 4.
Several of the agents cut ties with The O Group entirely, while others are still listed as agents on the brokerage’s website work for the company off-screen. So what’s the deal with the Season 4 departures? Here’s everything we know about who’s missing from Selling The OC Season 4 and why ahead of the November 12 premiere. We’ll be sure to update this list as additional info is shared.

Why Did Tyler Stanaland Leave The Oppenheim Group?
Photo: Adam Rose/Netflix First things first! While you’ll see Tyler in Selling The OC Season 4, he’s no longer working at The Oppenheim Group. So what happened? As noted in Decider’s post-Season 3 article, Tyler told People he was leaving the show to work with his dad, John Stanaland, again at his high-profile agency, Douglas Elliman.
“Leaving The Oppenheim Group wasn’t an easy decision, but is the right decision for me and my clients,” Tyler told People via email. “Not only am I joining my dad and brother at Douglas Elliman, I’m aligning with a brand that has unparalleled reach and presence in the market with a renowned network of agents and industry leaders.”
After Season 3’s Alex Hall and Sean Palmieri drama, however, it was clear that developments in Tyler’s personal life and the toxic work environment played a huge role in leaving The Oppenheim Group. At the top of Selling The OC Season 4, we learn that Tyler went on a “soul searching” journey following his divorce from Brittany Snow and didn’t talk to his pals at The O Group for 18 months. He’s back on the show, not at the brokerage, in Season 4. And he and Alex Hall have a much-needed heart-to-heart.

Why Did Sean Palmieri Leave The Oppenheim Group?
TYLER GOLDEN/NETFLIX Following Selling The OC Season 3, Decider also broke down Sean Palmieri’s departure from The O Group. After Sean’s blowout finale fight with several cast members, but mostly Tyler, Polly told Tyler, “It’s done. He is done. If Jason is the broker that I think he is [Sean’s] not going to last much longer in the fucking Oppenheim Group.”
While we don’t know exactly what transpired after that emotional confrontation, in November 2023 (shortly after Stanaland’s departure) Palmieri told People, “After much consideration, I’ve decided to part ways with the Oppenheim Group. I am very excited about this new chapter in my career and eager to embark on a journey that closely aligns with my professional aspirations and personal growth.” People also noted that he told ET he signed on as a partner “with an amazing, top-producing team and mentor, Steve Games, previous owner of Prudential California Realty and Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty,” but LinkedIn last showed him working at The O Group until February 2024, listing two years and 10 months with the agency. So we’ll wait to see if he shares any updates after Selling The OC Season 4 drops.

Why Did Alexandra Jarvis Leave The Oppenheim Group?
Photo: Netflix Seemingly unrelated to the Tyler/Austin/Sean and Tyler/Alex Hall drama of Selling The OC Season 3, Alexandra Jarvis also left The Oppenheim group after the third season wrapped. Per Tudum, Jarvis “amicably parted ways with The Oppenheim Group to pursue other ventures” and is “enjoying some downtime right now.”
“I’ve just been enjoying married life and traveling. I really haven’t been prospecting or trying to focus on real estate right now,” Jarvis, who was present at Selling The OC‘s Season 3 press day, told Tudum in 2024. “I’ve been working on some other stuff, but I’m not ready to share what that is.”
From the looks of Alexandra Jarvis’ Instagram, she’s still involved in real estate, but she’s no longer listed as an agent on The O Group’s website. Her Instagram bio reads, “lawyer turned creative,” and she also posts recipes to @homebodyhospitality.

Why Did Kayla Cardona Leave Selling The OC?
Photo: Netflix Another big Season 3 personality missing in Selling The OC Season 4? Kayla Cardona. As of November 11, Kayla was still listed as a Realtor Associate on The Oppenheim Group’s website, so it appears her departure was strictly show-related. Though we have yet to learn why Kayla isn’t appearing on the Netflix series anymore, but in the past she’s been vocal about racism accusations against Alex Hall. Her absence from the series could be a personal decision or one made for the sake of the show. (We’ve seen the OG series Selling Sunset change the cast from season to season to keep things fresh and develop new dynamics among the cast.) While we wait for more updates, check out Kayla’s Instagram account, where you can get a glimpse of the other hat the realtor wears, including podcast host and motivational speaker. As you’ll read below, however, Kayla is still close to some Selling The OC co-stars…

Why Did Alexandra Rose Leave Selling The OC?
Photo: Netflix Like Kayla, we have yet to learn specifics about Alexandra Rose’s Season 4 absence from the Netflix series, but after her once on-screen bestie Alexandra Jarvis left, fans thought she might follow suit. As of November 11, Alexandra was still listed as a Senior Realtor Associate on The Oppenheim Group’s website, so it appears her departure was strictly show-related. As confirmed on Instagram, she’s still proudly employed by the brokerage, AND she’s pregnant (due Nov. 2025), so perhaps that’s why she stepped back from Season 4!

Why Did Ali Harper Leave Selling The OC?
Photo: Netflix Also absent from Selling The OC Season 4? Season 3 newbie, Ali (Alexandra) Harper, a former Miss USA pageant winner from Nashville, Tennessee who joined the show as aspiring real estate agent. Crucially, she didn’t have her real estate license yet! (It was a whole thing!) Before Season 3 ended, Ali bet Gio that she could sell a house within two months after she got her license. If she won, Gio would have to strut through the office in a bikini as a nod to her pageant days. The outcome of that bet? Unclear! Details on Ali’s Selling The OC departure remain unknown, but it’s worth noting she’s not currently listed on The Oppenheim Group’s website, so she seemingly has no ties to the show or the brokerage anymore.
She’s posting lots of lifestyle content on Instagram, so there’s a chance she never got her license and had to leave the show/brokerage. But thanks to an Instagram post, we know that Ali planned Alexandra Rose’s baby shower “from 3000 miles away,” so it sounds like she may be back in Nashville (!?) but still close to Alexandra Rose and Kayla, also pictured at the shower.

Why Did Lauren Shortt Leave The Oppenheim Group?
Photo: Netflix Last but not least, Lauren — an unproblematic Selling The OC fave who we never got to know that well — was missing in Season 4 and is not currently listed on The Oppenheim Group’s website. While details surrounding her departure are unclear, it seems she’s cut ties to the show and the brokerage, and since launched her own real estate business with Cindi Karamzadeh.
Selling The OC Season 4 is now streaming on Netflix.
