Russell Wilson takes TV job during Giants bye week in hint toward future

Russell Wilson is going back to work on Sundays — he just needed the Giants to have a week off.

The veteran quarterback will join the CBS studio show — “The NFL Today” — in New York to provide analysis of the games in a crucial Week 14.

The Giants are on a late-season bye week after their 33-15 “Monday Night Football” loss to the Patriots.

It is part of another lost season with the Giants sitting at 2-11 and already firing head coach Brian Daboll and defensive coordinator Shane Bowen.

It’s extremely unlikely the 37-year-old Wilson will be a part of the solution beyond this season after signing a one-year, $10 million deal in the offseason.

Wilson lasted three games as the starter before being demoted to second-string behind promising rookie Jaxson Dart.

When Dart went down with a concussion in Week 10 against the Bears, the Giants opted to start Jameis Winston in his place.

With Dart now back starting, Wilson has been relegated to the third-string emergency quarterback.

The appearance in the CBS studios could be a hint at what the future holds for Wilson with his NFL career nearing the finish line.

While he will likely will pursue a chance to continue playing, he will be hard-pressed to find another starting job.

Wilson has seemingly enjoyed the spotlight that comes with being a Super Bowl-winning quarterback and is married to singer Ciara.

The power couple shares three kids together — Sienna, Win and Amora — and co-parent Future Zahir from Ciara’s first marriage with rapper Future.

Wilson has been protective of his public image and a move into media seems like a natural fit.

The CBS studio show regularly features host James Brown with analysts Matt Ryan, Nate Burleson and Bill Cowher.

The network will air the Steelers-Ravens showdown for first place in the AFC North at 1 p.m. ET.

Let’s be honest—no matter how stressful the day gets, a good viral video can instantly lift your mood. Whether it’s a funny pet doing something silly, a heartwarming moment between strangers, or a wild dance challenge, viral videos are what keep the internet fun and alive.
