The “Orange is the New Black” alum slammed Sweeney via Threads on Tuesday, shortly after the “Euphoria” actress defended the box office flop.

“The original Christy Martin script was incredible. Life changing. I was attached to play Cherry. Everyone had experience with the core material,” Rose, 39, shared.
“Most of us were actually gay. It’s part of why I stayed in acting. Losing roles happens all the time.”
Rose went on to seemingly call out Sweeney’s political beliefs after it was revealed the actress is a registered republican voter. Sweeney, 28, also became the subject of controversy over the summer thanks to her American Eagle Jeans ad that many online felt was riddled with nazi propaganda.
At the time, the ad received praise from President Donald Trump, which Sweeney later said was “surreal.”
“For her PR to talk about it flopping and saying SS did it for the ‘people.’ None of ‘the people’ want to see someone who hates them, parading around pretending to be us,” Rose wrote on Tuesday.
“You’re a cretin and you ruined the film. Period. Christy deserved better.”
Reps for Sweeney did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
“Christy,” which stars Sweeney as the biopic’s titular focus, gay boxer Christy Martin, scored a less-than-savory opening weekend following its Nov. 7 theatrical release.
The movie raked in a gross of $1.3 million across more than 2,000 screens, according to The Post.
Following the box office results, the “Euphoria” actress quickly jumped to defend her movie via Instagram where she told her followers how “deeply proud” she was to be part of telling Martin’s story.
“[I’m] proud of the film david [Michod] made. proud of the story we told. proud to represent someone as strong and resilient as Christy Martin. this experience has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” she wrote.
“This film stands for survival, courage, and hope. through our campaigns, we’ve helped raise awareness for so many affected by domestic violence. we all signed on to this film with the belief that christy’s story could save lives,” Sweeney continued.
“Thank you to everyone who saw, felt, and believed and will believe in this story for years to come. if christy gave even one woman the courage to take her first step toward safety, then we will have succeeded.”
The actress made it clear that she didn’t sign on to this movie for potential “numbers,” but rather for its “impact” as she called it the “the most impactful project of my life.”
“Christy” marks yet another bomb for Sweeney following her crime comedy “Americana,” which grossed less than $500,000 off a $9 million budget, and Ron Howard’s $35-million “Eden” which made $2.5 million in business.
The Post previously described Sweeney as a “knockout” in the biopic, giving “Christy” three stars after its Toronto International Film Festival world premiere in September.
Audiences also gave the movie a 98% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
