Rosie O’Donnell Warns ‘The View’ Could Be Canceled Under Trump’s Administration: “The Truth Is Dangerous Now”
Former The View host Rosie O’Donnell spoke out in defense of the ABC talk show after hearing rumors that the network is allegedly “reviewing” the show’s “liberal bias.”
O’Donnell, who recently moved to Ireland to escape President Trump’s administration, warned that The View is allegedly at risk of being canceled at ABC because its co-hosts have been critical of President Trump‘s politics.

“Because it’s not enough to run the country into the ground You have to control what people SEE What they HEAR What they think,” O’Donnell wrote in a TikTok. “And The View? Well, that’s a little too much woman — a little too much truth — a little too much Joy Behar saying ‘I don’t think the insurrection was a tourist visit, Karen.’ Apparently, the truth is dangerous now.”
The comedian claimed the administration will want to “silence anything that doesn’t praise the orange messiah and his golden escalator of lies.”
These are just the latest remarks O’Donnell has made against President Trump. The pair have been publicly feuding since she called him a “snake-oil salesman” on The View in 2006. President Trump even recently threatened to revoke her citizenship – which The View host Ana Navarro promptly shut down on the show.
In her statement on TikTOk, O’Donnell, who has been openly critical about her time on the show, then denied that The View is “some radical leftist threat” after having co-hosted the talk series twice in 2006 and 2014.
“I know how hard it is to get four women to agree on lunch — let alone politics. So don’t tell me The View is some radical leftist threat,” she continue. “This isn’t about bias — This is about obedience. This is about removing any program that doesn’t align with Trumpism — soft fascism in full lashes with commercial breaks First they came for the journalists Then the educators Then the librarians Now, it’s Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg.”
O’Donnell continued, “We are in a dictatorship with good lighting. I used to think the First Amendment meant something. I used to think you couldn’t just erase a voice because it made you uncomfortable. But that’s where we are. They don’t want balance. They want obedience. And they will shut down anything that reminds people of what freedom sounds like.”
She warned that there will be few figures in media left to call out the “insane” political antics that the ladies of The View regularly discuss.
“When they label truth as bias, and disagreement as danger, and they start scrubbing the airwaves of anyone who makes them uncomfortable,” she wrote. “What they’re really trying to do is shut us up.”
Her claims come after speculation arose that President Trump had a hand to play in CBS’ decision to cancel The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. President Trump gloated after the news broke, noting that Jimmy Kimmel Live could be next.
The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
