Rosie O’Donnell hits back at Trump’s citizenship threat in heated rant

Rosie O’Donnell slammed President Trump in a scathing social media rant after he threatened to revoke her US citizenship over the weekend.

“I’ve had 20 years of abuse from him so I knew it wasn’t going to stop,” the former “View” co-host, 63, said in a nearly 10-minute TikTok video Tuesday, noting that she was “expecting” the president to “do something as absurd as he did.”

O’Donnell also reassured her fans in response to the citizenship threats, “I’m OK. Don’t worry about me. I’m good. I’m safe here in Ireland. I’m out of the reach of the tangerine [dictator Benito] Mussolini.”

Trump, 79, wrote via Truth Social Saturday, “Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship.”

“She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA.”

The “A League of Their Own” star moved to Ireland earlier this year after Trump won the 2024 US presidential election.

The comedian and Commander-in-Chief have had a longstanding feud for decades. They’ve each thrown public jabs and name-called each other, with O’Donnell referring to the president as a “snake-oil salesman” and “orange slug,” and Trump saying she is a “fat pig,” “loser” and “disgusting.”

O’Donnell shared in her TikTok video that her move overseas felt like a “necessity” because her heart “couldn’t take the pain” of the political decisions the president has made.

She then went on to criticize the Immigration and Customs Enforcement or ICE roundups of illegal immigrants, which she said were “insanity,” and accused Trump of battling dementia. The president’s physician has noted that he has “excellent cognitive and physical health.”

O’Donnell — who was born in Commack, NY — then maintained that her citizenship is protected by the US Constitution, stating, “You can’t take away someone’s citizenship, they have to renounce it themselves.” Birthright citizenship is guaranteed to anyone born in the US, per the 14th Amendment.

“I’m not that worried,” the former “Rosie O’Donnell Show” host insisted. “However, the Supreme Court has given him unbridled powers.”

O’Donnell said she “will always be” an American, clarifying, “I will never renounce my American citizenship. I am waiting happily for my Irish citizenship so that I can be a dual citizen, but I will never renounce my American citizenship. Ever.”

She concluded by thanking those who sent kind messages, stating it was “touching” to see the support.

O’Donnell first responded to Trump’s threats over the weekend by sharing a series of posts via Instagram, in which she called the real estate mogul a “criminal con man sexual abusing liar out to harm our nation to serve himself.” She also called out his alleged ties to the late convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein.

Page Six has reached out to Trump’s spokesperson for comment but has not yet heard back.
