Republican lawmakers will introduce bill to put Charlie Kirk on silver dollar coins

Two Republican congressional lawmakers plan to introduce legislation on Friday to put Charlie Kirk’s likeness on commemorative silver dollar coins.

The legislation, backed by Reps. Abe Hamadeh (R-Ariz.) and August Pfluger (R-Texas), aims to direct the Treasury to mint 400,000 silver dollar coins in 2026, featuring the phrase “well done, good and faithful servant” on one side and the slain conservative activist’s name and face on other side.

“Charles ‘Charlie’ James Kirk was an American treasure,” Hamadeh said in a statement. “So, it’s only fitting that we create a treasured commemorative coin in his honor.”

Since 1892, Congress has authorized more than 150 commemorative coins.

If the bill passes, Kirk would become the youngest American ever memorialized on legal US currency, Hamadeh and Pfluger said.

The coins will be minted at no cost to taxpayers, according to the lawmakers, and the final design will be approved by President Trump.

“Charlie Kirk was a conservative titan whose transformational impact on millions of Americans deserves permanent recognition alongside our nation’s greatest leaders and influential figures,” Pfluger said in a statement. “This commemorative coin will make Charlie the youngest American ever immortalized on legal U.S. currency, a fitting honor that cements his extraordinary legacy alongside presidents and founding fathers who shaped our republic.”

“Through his leadership of Turning Point USA and relentless advocacy for American values, Charlie built a movement whose torch we will proudly carry forward to defend our nation’s core principles for generations to come.”

“I have full confidence that Charlie Kirk will go down in history as one of the most influential men of our great nation’s history, liberating young minds from the pernicious hold of leftists in our academic institutions and ushering in an era of brave faithfulness and national pride,” Rep. Abe Hamadeh said. ZUMAPRESS.com

Kirk, 31, was assassinated on Sept. 10 while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University.

Tens of thousands celebrated his life on Sunday at a memorial service in Glendale, Ariz.

President Trump, Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio were among several high-level government officials to speak at the service, which also included remarks from the Turning Point USA founder’s widow, Erica Kirk, and many other conservative luminaries.

Tyler Robinson, 22, is accused of killing Kirk and has been charged with aggravated murder and several other crimes.

Prosecutors in Utah are seeking the death penalty against Robinson.
