Rangers vs. Senators prediction: Odds, picks, and best bet for Wednesday’s NHL action
Two distracted teams in panic mode will meet on Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden.
The Rangers, mired in a three-game losing streak, will host the Senators, who have been circling the drain for a month and are dealing with off-ice dramatics that have clearly impacted their on-ice performance.

Neither team will have the services of its starting goaltender on Wednesday evening.
With Ottawa traveling on a back-to-back, the Rangers are the betting favorites in this battle between two very desperate teams.
Rangers vs. Senators odds, prediction
It was a trying first half of the season for the Rangers, but they were able to remain within touching distance of the wild-card race thanks to terrific goaltending and a stingy defense.
A triumphant performance in the Winter Classic on Jan. 2 looked like a potential turning point for Mike Sullivan’s group, but instead, the Rangers have stumbled into 2026 with four losses (0-3-1) in a row. The Blueshirts have conceded 22 goals in that span, a worrying sign with Igor Shesterkin on the shelf.

Betting on the NHL?
It’s not just the goaltending that has been the issue for the Rangers. Jonathan Quick has struggled since Shesterkin went down, but the defense has completely folded in front of him, allowing the sixth-most expected goals and 11th-most high-danger scoring chances in the NHL over the last 10 games.
Ottawa’s defensive metrics have actually been strong of late, but the Senators own the worst save percentage in the NHL and will likely be starting journeyman James Reimer, who they signed off the scrap heap this week.
If Reimer doesn’t get the nod, the Sens will either start the struggling Leevi Merilainen on back-to-back nights or turn to AHLer Hunter Shepard. A real Sophie’s choice for Ottawa.
There should be goals in this one.
The Play: Over 5.5 goals scored (-130, bet365 Sportsbook)
