Pittsburgh forward Justin Brazeau notched a pair of goals, scoring once in the final minute of the first period and then again in the final minutes of the third in an empty net, with goalie Artus Silovs making it stand up on the strength of 30 saves.

Blake Lizotte added an empty-netter with just under two minutes left.

Rangers netminder Igor Shesterkin kept the Rangers in it, stopping 27 shots, including several in close in the game’s waning minutes.
