The Prince of Wales is said to be determined to revamp the dwindling public image of the British monarchy when he ascends to the throne.
This, in turn, means having to take a far less diplomatic approach than his father, King Charles.
“William is far more hard-nosed than Charles when it comes to protecting the monarchy’s reputation,” one former courtier told the outlet.
“He’s fully aware of the harm Andrew has caused to the monarchy’s reputation and won’t shy away from actions his grandmother or father may have steered clear of.”
“Andrew’s Dukedom could be up for discussion when William takes the throne,” an insider said.
According to the report, William will be looking to the parliament for help in stripping royal titles through legislation.
What’s more, the monarch has the power to revoke HRH titles through Letters Patent — something he is reportedly thinking of doing.
The prince and princess titles can also be removed with a Royal Warrant, though insiders said it’s unlikely that this approach will receive government backing as it may be deemed a personal matter, the outlet adds.
“The public deserves to know their monarchy is free from scandal,” the future king reportedly told his inner circle, per the outlet.
The Post has reached out to Kensington Palace for comment.
According to author Andrew Lownie, William and his scandal-scarred uncle are said to have fallen out over the “nasty remarks” he made about the Princess of Wales.
Lownie added that the alleged remarks came from a place of jealousy, as the duke was envious that Princess Catherine had become a key figure of the Firm following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
The alleged comments had resulted in the breakdown of their relationship.

It comes just days after Lownie, who details various tidbits about the scandal-scarred prince in his latest biography, “Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York,” claimed the duke doesn’t have a bright future regarding his royal and private life.
Lownie said that Andrew — who had recently won his yearslong fight to stay at the Royal Lodge — is already “living the life of a retired man.”
The author added that Andrew had been most affected by the stripping of his royal titles following his many controversies — including his close association with late convicted pedophile and financier Jeffrey Epstein, the sexual abuse lawsuit filed against him by the late Virginia Giuffre and his links to alleged Chinese spy Yang Tengbo.
“What most annoys him is his lack of a royal status. That’s what really sort of gave him his whole sense of identity,” he told the outlet.
“And that’s, you know, it’s not being able to put on his uniforms and strut around and being self-important.”
Indeed, Andrew’s fate within the monarchy had been reportedly decided by William already.
Additionally, insiders suggest that William will be eager to evict Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, from the Royal Lodge, where the pair have lived since 2004.
