Prince Harry to reach out to Prince William, King Charles about special UK invitation

Prince Harry will be inviting his estranged family members to the 2027 Invictus Games in hope of a royal reconciliation, according to a report.

The Duke of Sussex, 40, is set to extend an invitation to King Charles and Prince William to the ceremony, which is slated to take place in Birmingham in July that year.

Insiders say the “Spare” author will be emailing invitations to Buckingham Palace this month, which will later be followed by formal invitations nearer the time.

Harry is believed to have approved the royal guest list and the wording of the invitations already.

“Harry has agreed that Invictus should extend an invitation to his family,” a source told the Daily Mail.

“The Royals have always been hugely supportive of Invictus and proud of what Harry has achieved in that arena. This is one olive branch from him that might be reciprocated.”

However, the royals will have a tricky decision to make.

The Games will open on July 12, 2027 and conclude on July 17 — which coincides with Queen Camilla’s 80th birthday.

Celebration planning is already underway for the royal event, so it’s unclear whether the royals will opt to decline Harry’s invitation.

It’s said that the invites represent the first time the duke has publicly reached out to his family since the royal rift began more than five years ago.

The Post has reached out to Harry’s reps for comment.

It remains to be seen whether Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle, and their children Archie and Lilibet will be coming to the UK for the event, as the royal had previously insisted this was not an option without “full police protection” — for which he lost his appeal earlier this year.

If the “Suits” alum, 43, opts not to return to her husband’s homeland, it will mark the first Invictus Games she has missed since meeting him.

As the topic of a royal reconciliation re-enters the fold, some royal commentators have highlighted the challenges that remain in building bridges, such as a lack of trust.

“The King might attend to show support for the Armed Forces and congratulate Harry on the most significant success in his life,” royal author Ingrid Seward told the outlet.

“The only reason the King is wary of associating with his son is that he no longer trusts him not to repeat their private conversations as he has done in the past. This goes for all the working members of the family.”

Meanwhile, royal commentator Katie Nicholl said, “The King absolutely wants a relationship with his youngest son and with his grandchildren.”

“He has an incredible capacity for forgiveness and he wants to be magnanimous in all of this and therefore there’s certainly a possibility that the King might consider attending Invictus,” she added.

Harry last month told the BBC that he is willing to move on from the disagreements that have marred the Royal household since he and wife Meghan Markle’s departure because he doesn’t “know how much longer” his father, who is battling cancer, has left.

“There’s no point in continuing to fight any more,” he said. “Life is precious. Forgiveness is 100% a possibility because I would like to get my father and brother back.”
