Prince Harry claims he was ‘under duress’ in Dodgers hat controversy

Prince Harry said he had a few reasons for sporting a Dodgers hat while attending Game 4 of the World Series between Los Angeles and the Toronto Blue Jays, calling the matter “hat-gate.”
During an appearance on CTV News on Thursday, the Duke of Sussex, who is in succession for the throne, apologized for wearing the cap, as many noted that he remains connected to Canada’s monarchy.

“Firstly, I would like to apologize to Canada for wearing it. Secondly, I was under duress,” Harry, who attended the Fall Classic with his wife, Meghan Markle, said.
“There wasn’t much choice. I was invited to the LA Dodgers’ box by the dugout by the owner himself, [Mark Walter] so I was doing what I thought was the polite thing to do. But I’m going to wear [this Blue Jays hat] from now on to make sure I don’t make any more of those mistakes.”
Meghan, 44, is a native of California and they share a home in the Montecito area of Santa Barbara with their two children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4.
Harry, 41, went on to imply that he wore the hat because to hide his hair loss from the lights at Dodger Stadium.
“The other piece of this was … when you’re missing a lot of hair on top and you’re sitting under floodlights, you’ll take any hat that’s available,” he said before sharing his allegiance to the Blue Jays.
“So Game 5, Game 6, Game 7, I was Blue Jays throughout. Now that I’ve admitted that, it’s going to be really hard for me to return to Los Angeles.
“No, I’m very sorry to the Canadian public. Devastated that the Blue Jays lost, but go Jays,” he said.
Harry and Meghan, who was wearing a matching blue L.A. hat, were seen cheering in photos from Game 4.
He was not seen with the hat in a video of the couple walking to their suite at Dodger Stadium.
Harry and Meghan moved to California after stepping back from their roles in the royal family in 2020.
Earlier this week, Harry made a solo trip to Canada for slew of events commemorating Remembrance Day in Toronto, similar to Veterans Day in the U.S, which is observed on Nov. 11.
The couple spent a lot of time in Toronto in the early days of their relationship while Meghan was filming “Suits.”
The Blue Jays lost the World Series in a heartbreaking fashion after holding a 3-2 lead with victories at Dodger Stadium in Game 4 and Game 5.
Toronto lost Game 7 in front of a home crowd after Will Smith’s homer put it away for the Dodgers in the 11th inning for a final score of 5-4.
