Prince Andrew called palace staff member a ‘f–king imbecile,’ new royal book claims

Prince Andrew called a palace staffer working in the Royal Household a “f–king imbecile” for not referring to the late Queen Mother by her full title, according to a new book.

The Duke of York, 65, can be “unbelievably cruel” to staffers behind closed doors, according to an excerpt of veteran royal biographer Andrew Lownie’s new book, obtained by the Daily Mail.

In his latest biography, “Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York,” Lownie detailed one such occasion involving the scandal-scarred prince — who has recently won his yearslong fight to stay at the Royal Lodge.

Following a severe storm that ravaged through Northern Ireland in 2005, Andrew had asked the head of Hillsborough Castle, David Anderson, if there had been any significant damage to the building.

“Yes, sir,” Anderson responded, per Lownie’s book. “The tree which was planted by the Queen Mother.” This was followed by a withering silence, then Andrew said in a mocking voice, “Did you mean Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother?”

“He then asked the poor man how long he had worked for the royal family. Mr Anderson replied, ‘I joined in 1984, sir,’” the book claims.

“And you still don’t know the proper way to refer to my grandmother? You f–king imbecile. Get out,” Prince Andrew is claimed to have said.

The Post has reached out to the duke’s reps and Buckingham Palace for comment.

Lownie further claimed that the duke’s catchphrase for royal staff was, “I want this done and I want this done now. Do it!”

Elsewhere in the book, Lownie claims that Andrew’s relationship with his younger nephews, William and Harry, was “problematic.”

In one excerpt published by the Daily Mail, Lownie claimed that Prince Harry had physically confronted his uncle over alleged comments about his wife, Meghan Markle.

The Duke of Sussex, 40, was said to have left the disgraced Duke of York with a “bloody nose” following a “heated argument” more than a decade ago, according to an excerpt obtained by the Daily Mail.

Lownie, who wrote the book about Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, claimed that Harry lost his cool after his uncle uttered a comment about the “Suits” alum, 44, “behind Harry’s back.”

The royal author alleged that Andrew had called the former actress an “opportunist.”

Harry has since firmly shut down the claims, saying they are “gross inaccuracies, damaging and defamatory remarks.”

“I can confirm Prince Harry and Prince Andrew have never had a physical fight, nor did Prince Andrew ever make the comments he is alleged to have made about the Duchess of Sussex to Prince Harry,” the Invictus Games founder’s rep told The Post of the alleged altercation.
