Prince Andrew being investigated for pressuring officer to dig up information on Virginia Giuffre in leaked emails
Authorities are investigating Prince Andrew after reports surfaced that he asked a police protection officer to dig up information about the late Virginia Giuffre in leaked emails.
The royal reportedly told his late mother Queen Elizabeth II’s deputy press secretary in 2011 that he gave an officer Giuffre’s US Social Security number and date of birth to look into her alleged criminal record, according to the Mail on Sunday.

Per the outlet, he allegedly sent the email shortly before a 2001 photo was released of himself with his arm wrapped around Giuffre’s waist when she was 17 years old. Jeffrey Epstein’s ex-girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell was also in the picture.
It’s unclear if the officer complied with Andrew’s request.
Ed Miliband, the UK’s energy secretary, referred to the correspondence as “deeply concerning,” ensuring that the allegations would be investigated.
Giuffre’s family, meanwhile, commented on the allegations, telling the outlet that the emails “expose the lengths to which those implicated try to discredit and defame survivors,” referring to her sexual assault allegations against Andrew.
“The truth will surface and there will be no shadows in which they can hide,” the family added.
Reps for Buckingham Palace weren’t immediately available to Page Six for comment.
Giuffre died by suicide in April 2025 at the age of 41 after years of accusing Andrew, 65, of sexual assault, alleging that he was involved in Epstein’s sex trafficking ring and raped her when she was a minor.
She filed a formal lawsuit against the former Duke of York in 2021, and the case was settled outside of the courtroom in 2022 for an estimated $12 million.
At the time, Andrew denied the allegations, but Queen Elizabeth took away his military honors as a result.
Andrew’s past email correspondences, however, were leaked days after he and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, were stripped of their royal titles due to “continued accusations” that he’s connected to Epstein.
“I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first,” he wrote in a statement on Friday.
Andrew continued to deny the allegations against him, but shared that the decision was made following a talk with his brother, King Charles III, and their “immediate and wider family.”
