Police investigating claims Prince Andrew asked bodyguard for dirt on Virginia Giuffre

London’s Metropolitan Police confirmed they are investigating allegations that Prince Andrew asked an officer to dig up dirt about his sexual abuse accuser, Virginia Giuffre.

The prince — who was forced to give up his royal title as Duke of York on Friday in a humiliating fall from grace — reportedly emailed his late mother Queen Elizabeth II’s deputy press secretary in 2011 and said he gave an officer Giuffre’s personal information, including her social security number.

The request came roughly ten years after Giuffre claimed she was forced to have sex with the royal during his friendship with late convicted millionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

“We are aware of media reporting and are actively looking into the claims made,” The Met told The Times of London in a statement.

Andrew emailed the Queen’s late press secretary Ed Perkins that Giuffre “has a criminal record in the [United] States” and said he provided “her DoB [date of birth] and social security number for investigation with [redacted], the on-duty ppo [personal protection officer].”

He reportedly sent the email just before the release of the infamous 2001 photo showing the prince’s arm wrapped around Giuffre’s waist when she was just 17 years old.

Jeffrey Epstein’s notorious madame and ex-girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell was also in the picture.

It’s unclear if the officer complied with Andrew’s request; however, legal experts told The Times that it was “a breach of [Giuffre’s] right to privacy” and that there “could be legal implications” for the prince.

Giuffre’s family has insisted that she never had a criminal record. The most prominent victim of Epstein took her own life in April.

The family told the Daily Mail that the emails “expose the lengths to which those implicated try to discredit and defame survivors,” referring to her sexual assault allegations against Andrew.

“The truth will surface and there will be no shadows in which they can hide,” the family added.

Giuffre died by suicide in April at the age of 41 after years of accusing Prince Andrew of raping her when she was a minor after she was trafficked in Epstein’s sex ring.

She filed a formal lawsuit against the former Duke of York in 2021, and the case was settled outside of the courtroom in 2022 for an estimated $12 million.

At the time, Andrew denied the allegations, but Queen Elizabeth took away his military honors as a result.

Andrew announced in a statement on Friday that he would stop using his titles of Duke of York and Knight of the Order of the Garter.

The scandal-scarred royal denied the allegations against him, but shared that the decision was made following a talk with his brother, King Charles III, and their “immediate and wider family.”

“I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first,” he wrote in a statement on Friday.

The historic move came about because the scandal threatened to overshadow King Charles and Queen Camilla’s state visit to the Vatican, in which a British monarch and pope will pray together publicly for the first time since the Reformation, according to The Times.
