Phil Dunster Spotted On ‘Ted Lasso’ Set After Reports Stated He Wouldn’t Be Returning For Season 4
Ted Lasso fans may have confirmed some major news for Season 4.
While it was already a surprise that the popular Apple TV+ series was returning for a new season, fans were disappointed to hear that not everyone in the cast will be reprising their roles for Season 4.

Jason Sudeikis, of course, will be back to play everyone’s favorite football coach, as will stars Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, Juno Temple and Jeremy Swift.
But there are some notable names who were reportedly not able to return for Season 4. Early reports claimed Phil Dunster was not going to be able to return in Season 4 due to scheduling conflicts, as he currently stars in The Devil’s Hour on Prime Video and Surface on Apple TV+.
However, a new video from the Ted Lasso Season 4 set shows a bleach-blond Dunster leaving a building in Richmond. Sudeikis, Temple, and Waddingham were also spotted on set nearby.
It remains unclear if Dunster will be returning in a regular capacity this season. However, fans should expect to see their favorite footballer at least one more time this season.
Dunster has previously said that he would “miss” playing Tartt.
“He has an element to him, which I just don’t, and that is a total conviction of who he is,” the actor told Esquire in 2023. “He’s a little terror, but he’s learned to be that guy with some kindness. I’ll miss just knowing this dude intimately and all of his choices. It was a real gift.”
After Coach Lasso returned to Kansas to be with his family, Season 4 will see the football crossing the pond one more time for a new challenge: Coaching Keeley and Rebecca’s AFC Richmond women’s soccer team.
“As we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to ‘look before we leap,’” Sudeikis said in the press release announcing the news. “In season four, the folks at AFC Richmond learn to LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK, discovering that wherever they land, it’s exactly where they’re meant to be.”
A premiere date for Ted Lasso Season 4 has not been announced yet.
