Perv teacher may have used images of middle school students to make AI child porn: Prosecutors

A Florida middle school teacher allegedly downloaded and shared dozens of child porn images while on school’s servers — and he may have even used his own student’s faces to create AI-generated abuse images.

David McKeown — who taught sixth-graders at UBIC academy near Daytona Beach — was arrested Thursday after investigators spent less than a month tracking his online activity, according to the Florida Attorney General’s office.

McKeown allegedly shared and downloaded nearly 30 child pornography and animal abuse images on the social media platform Discord during that time, Fox 35 reported.

Some of the images may have been made with AI-image generators, and used photos of real children that he taught for base material, prosecutors say.

And he even allegedly interacted with the vile images while teaching — with some being downloaded and shared while he was at work and using the school’s internet.

“As a teacher, parents trusted Mr. McKeown to impart knowledge to their children. Instead, he spent parts of the school day sending and receiving child sex abuse material and providing other pedophiles with UBIC Academy students’ personal information,” Attorney General James Uthmeier said.

 “What he did is beyond betrayal—it’s devastating and sick. Our Office of Statewide Prosecution will aggressively pursue justice for these children and their parents,” he added.

McKeown faces 19 charges for child sex abuse and animal abuse material, and could spend more than 300 years in prison if convicted.

The investigation into him began on June 2 following a tip to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

He has since been fired from his job, the school confirmed.

“We are shocked and deeply grieved by the serious allegations of misconduct against him,” the school board’s chair said in a statement.
