Packers’ Micah Parsons delivers eye-popping performance in win
The Micah Parsons effect is real and spectacular in Green Bay, at least for the first two weeks of the season.
The Packers rolled to a 27-18 win over the Commanders on Thursday night, and Parsons, their new edge rusher, played an important role in securing a 2-0 record.

The two-time All-Pro recorded a Packers-best eight pressures in 37 pass rushes on Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels, according to NFL Next Gen Stats.

It came just four days after he recorded his first Packers sack on Sunday against the rival Lions.
The 26-year-old also picked up three QB hits, two tackles and half a sack as Green Bay smothered the Commanders, who were held to 230 yards of total offense.
Daniels, last year’s Offensive Rookie of the Year, was sacked four times and held to a 57.1 percent completion rate in a game where the Commanders were held to just three points through the first three quarters.
After the game at Lambeau Field, appreciative Packers fans, clearly happy about the blockbuster move that shipped Parsons to the NFC North from the Cowboys before the start of the season, chanted: “Thank you, Jerry!” in a nod to Dallas owner Jerry Jones.
Parsons, speaking on Amazon’s Prime Video postgame show, said the defensive effort from Green Bay has been a true team effort.

“I just think it’s contagious,” Parsons said. “It’s just contagious, we’re just getting after the ball. … We’ve just got to do it consistently.”
He added that he’s relieved to be past the offseason drama where he was a hold-in at Cowboys camp with his future — and contract status — in limbo.
“That’s the relief part, I’m finally able to be me,” Parsons added. “Everyone knows this is my happy place. … You all don’t know how happy I am just to be playing football.”
