‘Owning Manhattan’ Star Chloe Tucker Caine Says Her Co-Workers Didn’t Believe Jade Shenker’s Marital Woes: “Is This Something She’s Trying To Push For A Storyline?”

Owning Manhattan is back for Season 2, and the drama among the agents at SERHANT is just as juicy as any multi-million dollar deal.

Chloe Tucker Caine, who emerged from Season 1 as a breakout star, was often the center of the drama, especially when it came to her friendship with Jade Shenker. Things between the two real estate agents began to fall apart last season when Shenker shared that her then-husband had cheated on her, and instead of comforting her friend, Tucker Caine questioned why she would keep that information from her.

Going into Season 2, the women—despite making up at the end of Season 1—were not on speaking terms. Shenker shared that she had seen her ex-husband on Tucker Caine’s social media stories and claimed that she took his side in the divorce, while Tucker Caine was upset that Shenker didn’t check in on her after she had her baby.

Speaking to Shenker’s claims that she sided with her ex-husband, Tucker Caine told DECIDER that everyone doubted whether the commercial real estate agent was making up his affair for a storyline.

“I think I can speak for all of us on the show. We really didn’t know what to believe last season,” she said. “I mean, we really didn’t know. Like, did her husband cheat? Is this something she’s trying to push for a storyline? So, I think there was just a lot of confusion about it. I wasn’t taking her side when I didn’t even know if it was true.”

Noting that Shenker learned of her husband’s affair an entire eight months before they began filming, Tucker Caine added, “You’re sitting on this for eight months to say it on camera, which I now understand, when you’re on a reality show, that’s what you do, you hold it for camera. It just felt a little yucky and weird.”

According to Tricia Lee, who stopped by DECIDER’s studio along with Tucker Caine, the musical theatre guru wasn’t saying anything that hadn’t already been said by everyone else at SERHANT, including herself.

“I think the answer to that question, the accurate answer, is most people on the show would have not put it past Jade to be making that up, and neither did Chloe and neither did I,” Lee said.

While Tucker Caine realized she was wrong when the show came out in August 2024, she said she soon began to question Shenker again after she said something in an article that she felt was “very untrue.” Per Tucker Caine, her “red flags going were correct,” and she deduced that “things were being made up.”

“It was like a convoluted, confusing time,” she explained. “Now, I realize that Jade is Jade. She is who she is. And I feel like I can’t speak for everyone, but I can say for myself, I’ve really now accepted her for exactly who she is.”

By the end of Season 2, Tucker Caine and Shenker are back to being the best of friends. Their long-overdue conversation finally occurred when Tucker Caine tearfully showed up at Shenker’s doorstep after dropping her beloved dog, Sadie, off at the ICU to undergo treatment for a life-threatening condition.

“I [was] standing outside feeling so lost and broken. And I just, like, wanted to talk to my best friend,” she recalled. “I called producers and I was like, ‘Listen, I have this feeling. I want to talk to Jade. I want to pick up the phone and talk to her. Follow this or don’t, but I’m going to her apartment.’ Not that I knew where she lived because we hadn’t been close in a long time, but I’m getting her address and I’m going.”

“At the end of the day, I love Jade. I’m a ride or die for Jade,” Tucker Caine added. “Even though I’ve said a lot of things about her that I regret.”
