‘One Battle After Another’ Comes to Digital, But When Is ‘One Battle After Another’ Streaming on HBO Max?

If you didn’t see the new critically-acclaimed Paul Thomas Anderson movie, One Battle After Another, in theaters already, you may want to hurry up and do so. Because starting tomorrow, One Battle After Another is coming to digital platforms to buy and rent online. The movie is also still available to watch in theaters, but who knows how long that will last?

Written and directed by Anderson, One Battle After Another is based on the 1990 novel Vineland by Thomas Pynchon. Leonardo DiCaprio stars in the film as Bob Ferguson, a former revolutionary who’s forced back in the game when his baby daughter is in danger. He has a little help from his revolutionary friends, thankfully. The One Battle After Another cast also includes Teyana Taylor, Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, Regina Hall, Chase Infiniti, and Alana Haim.

With rave reviews from critics and audiences alike, and with a box office success of over $196.7 million worldwide and counting, One Battle After Another seems like a likely choice for Best Picture at the 2026 Oscars. If you’re waiting to watch One Battle After Another on streaming, here’s what we know about the One Battle After Another streaming release date on HBO Max.

Where to watch the One Battle After Another movie on streaming:

One Battle After Another will be available to buy or rent on digital platforms on Friday, November 14 at 12 a.m. Eastern Time (which is also 9 p.m. Pacific Time on Thursday, November 13). You’ll be able to buy and rent digitally on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Fandango At Home, and more. The price may vary depending on which platform you use to purchase the film, but on Amazon Prime the movie will cost $24.99 to buy, and $19.99 to rent. If you rent the movie, you’ll have 48 hours to view after hitting “play.”

One Battle After Another will also release on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on January 20. The One Battle After Another collectible steelbook will be available in Spring 2026, and contain a bonus disc with special features created by Anderson. (Note that neither the digital release, nor the 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD release, will come with special features.)

One Battle After Another is not yet available on a subscription-based streaming service, but we do expect to see the One Battle After Another movie streaming on HBO Max, free to HBO Max subscribers eventually, because One Battle After Another is a Warner Bros. movie, and HBO Max is the streamer owned by Warner Bros.

The One Battle After Another HBO Max streaming release date on has not yet been announced yet, but we can make an educated guess based on previous releases. Superman, another big WB movie, was released on PVOD a little over one month after opening in theaters, and began streaming on Max a little over two months after it was released in theaters.

If One Battle After Another follows a similar release pattern, you may see the movie streaming on HBO Max in about one month, around mid-December 2025. That said, it took One Battle After Another about a month-and-a-half to come to digital, rather than a month, so you might have to wait a little longer to see it on HBO Max, too—maybe around January 2026, when the DVD hits shelves.

But that’s pure speculation. The Warner Bros. home releases have varied by title. In the meantime, you can always watch One Battle After Another by buying or renting the movie online, or by seeing the film in theaters.
