Olivia Wilde sells LA home at huge loss amid Caspar Jopling romance

Olivia Wilde is living up to her name by taking some bold steps with her real estate portfolio—selling her stunning Los Angeles dwelling at a nearly $700,000 loss, amid rumors that her romance with British art dealer Caspar Jopling is heating up.

The 41-year-old actress and director, who shares two children with her former fiancé, Jason Sudeikis, purchased her picturesque Studio City, CA, abode for $5.9 million in March 2023, months before she and her ex hammered out a joint custody settlement for their son, Otis, 11, and daughter, Daisy, 9.

At the time, Wilde had just ended a short-lived romance with pop star and actor Harry Styles; however, she has since moved on with Jopling, whom she began dating in July 2025, around one year after his split from singer Ellie Goulding.

Wilde and Jopling, 33, have been seen enjoying a series of outings together on both sides of the pond, with photos showing them strolling through the London neighborhood of Primrose Hill in October, before they were spotted again the following month—this time in New York City.

The one location they have not been seen publicly? Los Angeles, where Wilde has been based for many years—until now.

Records show that the actress officially offloaded her four-bedroom, 5.5-bathroom home on Dec. 2 for $5.23 million, having previously listed the dwelling for $6.2 million less than three months prior.

While Wilde has not yet commented on her new relationship, her decision to sell her Los Angeles home after less than three years could well be seen as a sign that she is ready for a fresh start—or perhaps even a move to Jopling’s native U.K., where she has been spending plenty of time of late.

It certainly must have taken a great deal for Wilde to walk away from her Studio City, CA, home, which was listed with Daria Greenabum of Compass and offered what the listing described as “the spirit of L.A. living—architectural pedigree, seamless indoor-outdoor flow, and layered, artful detail.”

The property was originally designed by acclaimed architect Barbara Bestor and was completed in 1940; however, it underwent an extensive “refresh” in 2015, per the description.

Set on a 0.66-acre lot, the 3,700-square-foot abode is surrounded by lush landscaping and leafy trees that help to create a true feeling of privacy.

Upon entering the abode, guests are greeted with an open floor plan that boasts a chef’s kitchen, a cozy living area, and a chic dining room.

The master bedroom comes complete with wide glass doors that open up to the home’s sprawling backyard, which features a pool, spa, fireplace, and a detached guesthouse.

Wilde purchased the property just a few months before she sold the Silver Lake home that she and Sudeikis bought during their relationship for $4.2 million in an off-market deal in September 2023.

When the former couple split, they divided up their shared property portfolio, with the actress taking sole ownership of their California dwelling, while her ex received their Brooklyn townhouse.

The same month that she sold their Silver Lake abode, the couple also finalized their custody agreement

Sudeikis was ordered to pay a child-support sum of $27,500 per month to Wilde, and they decided to co-parent the children on a shared basis, with each taking one week with the kids at a time.

Sudeikis and Wilde first began their whirlwind relationship in 2011 after meeting at a “Saturday Night Live” party and got engaged just one year later.

In 2014, they welcomed Otis, two years before Daisy was born in 2016.

However, by 2020, the couple called it quits on their seven-year engagement.

Following their split, an insider told People that their children were their main concern and they were focused on successfully co-parenting.

“It’s been amicable, and they’ve transitioned into a great co-parenting routine. The children are the priority and the heart of the family’s relationship,” the insider told the outlet.

And while their breakup appeared friendly at first, things took a sharp turn when Sudeikis served Wilde with custody documents while she was speaking onstage at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

Wilde then claimed that Sudeikis “chose to serve me in the most aggressive manner possible,” which was “intended to threaten me and catch me off guard.”

A source then told People, “She and Jason don’t speak to each other, so they have help communicating about the custody schedule.”

In the years since, the duo appears to have mended their rift, with a source telling People after the custody arrangement was agreed that they were back on good terms.

“They’re in a good place. If there’s any resentment over where to live or child custody payments, they certainly don’t show it. It’s a united front. And they are clearly both deeply devoted parents,” the source said.
