Off-duty Border Patrol agent shot in face during NYC park robbery — before striking back and wounding one of his attackers



An off-duty Border Patrol agent was shot in the face in a New York City park by two moped-riding armed robbers — but he shot back and wounded one of the perps as they fled, according to sources.

The 42-year-old off-duty agent and a female companion were sitting on a rock along the Hudson River in Fort Washington Park in Manhattan when they were approached by the two men on a moped around 11:50 p.m., according to police sources.

After a brief exchange and tussle, one of the moped-riding men fired a gun and hit the victim in the face.

The man then whipped out his own pistol and fired two shots in the direction of the suspects, according to the NYPD.

One suspect appeared to be struck and wounded by the return gunfire when he turned up at a hospital in the Bronx.

He is currently in the custody in the hospital, sources said.

The victim is undergoing surgery and is suspected to survive.

An investigation is ongoing.
