NYPD rescues pair of kayakers from Hudson in third NYC water mishap this month
A pair of overturned kayakers were plucked from the Hudson River on Sunday, the third watery mishap in the Big Apple this month — and the second in under 24 hours.
The two kayakers, men 42 and 27 years old, fell into the river near Pier 66 shortly before 11:30 a.m. and were found clinging to the pier when cops arrived, police and sources said.

The NYPD Harbor and Emergency Services units responded to the scene and pulled both men to safety, cops said. The men were “conscious and alert” and not injured in the mishap.
Their names were not released.
The rescue came the day after a massive luxury yacht carrying nearly 400 passengers smashed into a pier at West 125th Street and the Henry Hudson Parkway, injuring 35 revelers, with 23 of them taken to area hospitals, according to police.
Some of the passengers were taken off the ship in wheelchairs after the 4:20 p.m. crash.
Meanwhile, nearly two dozen passengers from a 36-foot boat had to swim for their lives June 7 when their overloaded craft suddenly burst into flames near Hart Island off The Bronx.
The skipper of the Carver 35 yacht, 33-year-old Joshua Brito, was charged with operating a vessel while under the influence.
