NYPD housing cop carjacked while off duty in the Bronx
An off-duty NYPD housing officer was carjacked at gunpoint in the Bronx Saturday night in an incident that followed another recent attack on an off-duty cop.
The unidentified officer, 27, was near his Chevy along Ward Avenue in the Soundview section when a man jumped out of a damaged Ford SUV and pointed a gun at him, according to police.

Officers witnessed the off-duty cop being forcibly removed from his personal car at around 10:48 p.m. when responding to a 911 call of an assault in progress, authorities said.
The perp evaded police and drove off in the Chevy. The car ended up in New Rochelle, where it was recovered by police after being involved in a crash, sources said.
The cop was unharmed in the harrowing incident, sources told The Post.

The NYPD and New Rochelle police are jointly investigating the crime.

The incident follows another attack on an off-duty NYPD housing officer, 27-year-old Chowdury Nafees, who was robbed and assaulted in May by two men in the Bronx. Nafees’ two assailants were later arrested and charged.
