NYC crook who set laundry on fire in bizarre burglary now tied to series of random slashings: sources

An accused burglar and firebug may be linked to the random Brooklyn slashing spree that sent three victims to the hospital over the weekend, law enforcement sources told The Post.

Odyssey Head, 27, was nabbed Saturday and charged with setting a fire inside the laundry room of a Flatbush building — and is now a person of interest in the weekend assaults, sources said.

Head, who was charged with burglary, trespassing in criminal mischief, could face more charges in the slashing attacks — although he has not been officially linked to them, the sources said.

Police said the knife attacks began around 6:30 a.m. Saturday on a northbound Q train at the Church Avenue station, when a 37-year-old straphanger was slashed on the left side of the face.

At 9:40 p.m., a 53-year-old man was attacked at the intersection of Foster Avenue and New York Avenue and left with a similar injury, followed by another assault on a 56-year-old man shortly before 7 a.m. Sunday in front of 3311 Newkirk Ave.

All three victims were rushed to Kings County Hospital in stable condition.

Head has four prior arrests on his rap sheet dating back more than a decade, most recently on a Brooklyn armed robbery bust on Oct. 7, 2014.

In his arrest on Saturday, police said Head snuck into the New York Avenue building in Flatbush around 5 a.m. and set fire to clothes that were inside a washer and dryer, then fled on foot.
