NYC brute who allegedly attacked 3 held on bail week after freed

The pipe-wielding screwball who allegedly whacked two women and a teenage girl during a five-hour rampage in the Bronx was ordered held on bail Thursday by the same judge he faced last week who was forced to cut him loose on supervised release.

Jeremiah White was hit with a top charge of attempted murder for allegedly sucker-punching a nurse on her way to work – and moments later taking a metal pipe to her head early Wednesday morning, according to the Bronx District Attorney’s Office.

He later allegedly hit a 15-year-old girl so hard she bled “profusely” from her head and clocked another woman in the face before he was captured by authorities the same day.

The 23-year-old maniac was roaming the streets thanks to New York state’s lax bail laws after he was charged last week in similar random assaults on female strangers.

He was arrested on Oct. 7 and charged with slugging a woman the same day, and also in connection to a Sept. 12 assault on a teen straphanger riding the 2 subway line near the 174th Street Station.

But Bronx Judge Deidra Moore released him during his arraignment on Oct. 8 because his misdemeanor assault charges are non-bail eligible. She granted the prosecutors’ request for supervised release.

Moore set bail at $200,000 cash at White’s Thursday arraignment on charges of attempted murder rap, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

White’s Wednesday’s mayhem began around 5:20 a.m. when he targeted Virginia Alvarez, knocking the nurse down to the ground in one punch at West 175th Street and University Avenue, said Bronx Assistant District Attorney Vadeanand Nowrang.

As the 46-year-old struggled in the middle of the street, White repeatedly pummeled her in the face and then after briefly walking away, launched at her again with a metal pipe, Nowrang alleged.

He allegedly swung at her head as she put her hands up to fend off the attack, blocking eight or nine blows before he connected with her head and sent her back onto the concrete.

Alvarez suffered multiple fractures to her hands and face, and needed staples across the back of head.

About two hours later White was “swinging around a metal object” as he approached a 15-year-old girl on her way to school and told her to “be careful,” in Crotona Park East, said Nowrang.

He then smashed the victim’s skull with the pipe and strolled off, leaving the teen bleeding from her head “profusely,” said the prosecutor. The teen suffered a concussion and needed several stitches.

Finally, White is accused of walking up to a 54-year-old woman and punching her “square in the face” outside a Claremont apartment complex around 10 a.m. Shortly after, he was arrested.

Nowrang argued the earlier attacks followed “a common scheme” that involves “finding female strangers, who he then assaults with an object on a public street, causing the environment of fear for women in Bronx County.”

His next court date is pegged for Oct. 20 at 10 a.m.

Let’s be honest—no matter how stressful the day gets, a good viral video can instantly lift your mood. Whether it’s a funny pet doing something silly, a heartwarming moment between strangers, or a wild dance challenge, viral videos are what keep the internet fun and alive.
