Nikita Zadorov trolls Islanders fans after Matthew Schaeffer dustup

Nikita Zadorov wasn’t done messing with the Islanders and their fans after he stepped off the ice at UBS Arena.

The Bruins defenseman took to social media to troll Isles’ fans after a number of them jumped into his DMs on Instagram to give Zadorov a piece of their mind after he went after rookie sensation Matthew Schaefer during the Islanders’ 4-3 shootout loss.

Taking to his story, Zadorov shared a screenshot of DMs he had received from people — presumably Islanders fans — calling him everything from a scumbag to a p—y.

“Get out of my DMs and go to the rink to cheer for your team,” Zadorov wrote in an Instagram Story post. “THAT PLACE WAS A [LIBRARY] TONIGHT!!!

The incident with Schaefer happened in the middle of the second period when Zadorov gave the Islanders defenseman a shove with his stick that eventually knocked the rookie down to the ice, and when Schaefer attempted to get up,  Zadorov pushed him up high back down to the ice.

That caused Anthony Duclair and Isles captain Ander Lee to come charging in to defend Schaefer, followed by the other Islanders skaters on the ice.

Zadorov was eventually assessed a double minor for roughing and two minutes for interference.

After the game, he joked about the chaos that he had seen his penalty minutes from last season and wanted to raise his numbers.

He also took a jab at Islanders fans about the crowd noise inside the building.

“We needed to create our own energy because the crowd was sleeping tonight a little bit,” Zadorov told reporters. “So I felt like we had to go out there and create our own energy, get everybody going on the bench, get excited.”

The Islanders and Bruins will play once more on Long Island when the Bruins come to visit the night before Thanksgiving, and Zadorov is sure to garner some attention over his comments.
