49ers (-2.5) over GIANTS

It kinda feels like the Giants’ season is about to take a turn for the worse.

They are playing better football overall since turning to Jaxson Dart, but you wonder how a 2-6 team that collapsed in historic fashion in Week 7 and then got destroyed in Week 8 while losing its human Energizer bunny in Cam Skattebo will perform going forward.

One notable mismatch here is 49ers star running back Christian McCaffrey against a Giants’ rush defense that is essentially non-existent. Big Blue made the Eagles’ running game look competent again last week.

This game clearly matters more to the 49ers, who need to rebound to stay in the hunt in the NFC West after that awful showing against the Texans.

Back McCaffrey to run wild against a Giants team that doesn’t have the secondary or linebacker pieces to stop a Kyle Shanahan offense.

LIONS (-8.5) over Vikings

We try to avoid the huge home favorites, but the Vikings’ season seems like it’s about to go off the rails here.

Quarterback J.J. McCarthy returns in awkward fashion amid speculation of “How actually injured was he?,” and it’s not like he played all that well before being sidelined – and this is where some could argue benched in favor of Carson Wentz.

Betting on the NFL?

The Vikings’ defense is also coming off a disastrous showing last Thursday to the Chargers and faces another strong offense this week in Detroit.

Facing the Lions on the road off their bye is as challenging as it gets, and it seems all the momentum will be in Detroit’s favor in this one. These clearly aren’t the 2024 Vikings.

2025 record: 4-11-1
