An upset loss to the Panthers changed all of that.
Stafford is now the second-favorite behind Drake Maye, who’s Patriots improved to an NFL-best 11-2 on Monday night with a blowout win over the Giants.
But it’s a close race between the two star quarterbacks.
Maye jumped to -135 to win the award at DraftKings Sportsbook, just ahead of Stafford at +125.
No other player has odds better than 14/1.
Chiefs on the brink
After an impressive win during Week 12 over the Colts, the Chiefs took another step back on Thanksgiving, falling to the Cowboys to drop to 6-6 on the season.
Kansas City is now most likely to miss the playoffs than make it, and their schedule is no cupcake through the end of the season.
They get a tough match-up against the Texans in Houston on Sunday night with their season on the line.

AFC South madness
It’s anyone’s game in the AFC South.
After yet another tightening in the standings during Week 13, the Colts, Jaguars, and Texans are locked in a close battle in the division.
At the top, the Colts and Jaguars are tied at 8-4, followed by the Texans at 7-5.
Odds to win the division between the trio could barely be any closer.
Indianapolis is a slight +135 favorite at FanDuel Sportsbook, followed by Jacksonville at +145. Houston is lurking right behind them at +300.
Betting on the NFL?
A tough week for the survivors
Ram backers aside, most people still alive in their survivor league made it through Week 13 unscathed.
But with a ton of tight spreads, Week 14 should be tougher.
During this week’s slate, no team is a double-digit favorite, and only three teams (the Rams over the Cardinals, the Broncos over the Raiders, and the Buccaneers over the Saints) are better than a touchdown favorite as of Tuesday afternoon.
If none of those teams are available to you, expect some hard decisions in your near future.
