MLB Thursday player props, picks, odds

The Mets get to face another homer-prone pitcher Thursday evening against the Braves.

Right-hander Bryce Elder will take the mound for Atlanta in the series finale in Queens, giving the Amazin’s a chance to keep their offensive hot streak going after teeing off on Spencer Strider on Monday and clobbering Carlos Carrasco on Tuesday.

Elder has been just about as bad as his teammate Carrasco this season, with a 6.12 mark across 19 starts for the pitching-starved Braves.

Like Carrasco, the long ball has been Elder’s biggest issue, allowing 1.6 homers per nine innings after allowing 1.4 last season.

The Mets have tee’d off on Elder over the years.

Francisco Lindor has gone 4-for-7 with a home run, two doubles and a pair of walks against him.

In nine matchups against Elder, Pete Alonso has a .375 average with a long ball and a double.

Juan Soto has only come to the plate three times against Elder over his career, but even he has a long ball off of him.

Lindor is in a bit of a power drought, but Soto and Alonso have been about as hot with the long ball as they have been all season of late.

I’m targeting the Mets’ trio of stars to go yard Thursday night.
