Minnesota mom who called 5-year-old with autism the N-word in viral video now criminally charged
The Minnesota mom who hurled a racial slur at an autistic 5-year-old Somali child on a playground — and raised money from supporters after a clip of the incident went viral — will be slapped with charges in connection to the incident months later, according to reports.
Shiloh Hendrix, of Rochester, will be charged with three counts of disorderly conduct, which carries a maximum sentence of 90 days in jail and/or a $1,000 fine, according to local outlet KTTC.

“Given the sensitive and complicated nature of this case, along with the high level of public attention, completing the necessary reviews and conversations with the victim’s family took longer than usual,” a Rochester city spokesperson told the outlet.
Back in April, a video of Hendrix unapologetically using the n-word to describe a 5-year-old autistic Somali boy at a Rochester playground went viral online.
When the videographer, a Black man named Sharmake Omar, confronted her over the use of the word, Hendrix doubled down, directing the vile slur at the concerned adult who was standing up for a child.
“If that’s what he’s going to act like,” she retorted. She then said the n-word several more times, directed at Omar.

Hendrix claimed that the young boy was going through a bag containing her child’s belongings, which she felt apparently justified her using the slur.
After the shocking clip spread online, Hendrix said she faced a wave of harassment and begged for sympathy — which a surprising number of people afforded the potty-mouthed mama.
Hendrix raised over $525,000 on the website GiveSendGo — well in excess of any potential fine that could come down from the disorderly conduct charges.
The mom was asking for money, claiming that her private information, including her Social Security Number and address, had been leaked by outraged people online.
She set the goal for that page at $1 million, saying she needed the funds to relocate from Rochester, Minnesota, because of backlash.
The foul-mouthed Minnesota mom is no stranger to law enforcement, earning previous citations for driving under the influence, disorderly conduct, and brawling.
Hendrix’s sentence has yet to be determined, according to KTTC, citing local officials.
