Cyrus soft-launched her relationship with Morando in November 2021 by including the musician in a carousel of snaps she shared via Instagram.

The two attended a Gucci event together at the time, where they were photographed holding hands. The subtle PDA seemed to be a clear sign that the duo were more than just friends.

One month later, they put on another cozy display at “Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party” in Miami. Cyrus was spotted dancing with Morando backstage during commercial breaks for the televised special.

Rumors of a “new” relationship

In March 2022, insiders told Us Weekly that the “Flowers” hitmaker and the drummer were in a “new” relationship.

“They’re still getting to know each other at the moment,” the source said. “They’re having fun and have been spending a lot of time together.”

The insider noted that Cyrus and Morando seemed “very compatible” with a lot in common, in terms of music and their respective careers.

“They’re exploring things and seeing where it goes,” the source said at the time.

The “Hannah Montana” alum and Morando confirmed their romance in April 2022 when they were spotted making out on a sidewalk in West Hollywood, Calif.

Six months later, a source told E! News that their relationship was “very serious.”

In May 2023, Cyrus revealed the sweet way she met her now-fiancé during an interview with British Vogue.

“We got put on a blind date,” she shared. “Well, it was blind for me and not really for him.”

Though the “Angels Like You” songstress noted in the interview that they began dating “a couple of summers” ago, this was the first time she publicly spoke about her beau.

Grammys shout-out

Cyrus proved her and Morando’s romance was the real deal at the 2024 Grammys.

While accepting the award for record of the year, she gave Morando a special shout-out, referring to him as her “love.”

One day later, the “Climb” singer divulged the intimate details of how Morando proposed during her guest appearance on “Good Morning America.”

At the time, she revealed that the Liily rocker got down on one knee during their recent trip to Asia.

“I am not easy to surprise because I love to control every situation, and I had completely surrendered,” she explained. “And I’m telling you, I was so, so surprised.”

The pop star then showed off her new 14-karat gold sparkler to the camera, saying Morando “did good.”
