He also interviewed for the Giants’ full-time head coaching job earlier this month, although the team has since pivoted to John Harbaugh.

Despite seven other vacancies aside from the Giants, Kafka has yet to receive interest as head coach from another team.

Kafka was hired as the Giants offensive coordinator ahead of the 2022 season and was later promoted to assistant head coach under Brian Daboll.

After Daboll was fired in November, Kafka took over and went 2-5 during his stint as the interim head coach.

Since Kafka took over the offense four years ago, the Giants have the fifth-fewest total yards and points scored.

Kafka has a history with the Eagles, having been drafted in the fourth round by the franchise in 2010.

Serving as their backup quarterback, Kafka appeared in four games for Philadelphia in 2011.

Philadelphia is looking for a new OC after firing Kevin Patullo following their wild-card round loss to the 49ers last Sunday.

The next hire will be the Eagles’ fifth offensive coordinator in as many seasons after failed experiments with Patullo and Brian Johnson, while Shane Steichen and Kellen Moore both exited for head coaching roles in Indianapolis and New Orleans, respectively.

Earlier this week, The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported that Daboll and former Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel “are at the top of [Philadelphia’s] list.”

Falcons offensive coordinator Zac Robinson is also reportedly a candidate for the job.
