Michael Irvin had celebration after Miami stunned Ohio State

One did not want to be a water cooler around Michael Irvin on Wednesday night.

The Miami alum and NFL Hall of Famer went, as he described it, “Belt to ass” on a poor water cooler draped with what appeared to be Ohio State apparel after Miami’s shocking 24-14 upset Wednesday.

Irvin, 59, even cut a WWE-worthy promo like fellow former Hurricane star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on the inanimate object.

“I told y’all not to come to this stadium,” Irvin said while pointing at the water cooler, which remained silent.

The former star receiver then repeatedly whipped the cooler while saying with a distinct pause between each quip: “Didn’t I, tell y’all, not to, come, to, this, stadium. Don’t. Come. Back. No. More. That’s it, baby.”

Irvin then flashed “The U” logo toward the fans, who roared, and then continued his promo toward the media that gathered around.

“Belt to ass,” Irvin said. “We put belt to ass. We get it every week and we going to keep doing it until we land back home in our stadium for the national championship.

“Next week, same deal, same belt channel, same belt time. Belt to ass.”

Irvin certainly had a right to gloat after Wednesday’s shocking upset, one of the biggest in the short history of the College Football Playoff.

It seemed few outside of Coral Gables gave the Hurricanes a chance against the defending champions, who entered the game favored by more than a touchdown.

But Miami took a 14-0 lead into halftime and then made some key plays late to prevent an epic Ohio State rally, with Carson Beck completing a critical third-down play that he did not really remember.

“Shoot, I was blacked out,” Beck said with a laugh to ESPN. “Man, was blacked out. I was out there just, shoot, I don’t know, I was just blacked out playing a game I love.”

Irvin posted plenty of footage from his sidelines view of the game, and he even pulled the same belt-whipping stunt on another cooler that did not don any red gear.

Miami will look to continue its cinderella run next Thursday in the quarterfinal against the winner of Thursday’s clash between No. 3 Georgia and No. 6 Ole Miss.

“It is Dec. 31, and we’re about to flip the calendar, but we will no longer say happy new year,” Irvin said in another clip. “We will say happy U year, happy U year, yeah, yeah. Bring that mug in. Happy U year.”

Let’s be honest—no matter how stressful the day gets, a good viral video can instantly lift your mood. Whether it’s a funny pet doing something silly, a heartwarming moment between strangers, or a wild dance challenge, viral videos are what keep the internet fun and alive.
