Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius tarot reading for every zodiac sign

The final Mercury retrograde of 2025 is upon us.

Our planet of thought, speech, travel and exchange is going retrograde in Sagittarius, and later, Scorpio.

Mercury officially stations retrograde on Sunday, Nov. 9, at 2:01 p.m. EST at 6°51 Sagittarius. The planet will slither back into Scorpio on Nov. 18.

When is Mercury retrograde?

Mercury stations direct on Nov. 29, and re-enters Sagittarius on Dec. 11, but won’t clear its post-retrograde shadow until Dec. 16.

Fire signs — Aries, Leo, Sagittarius

Nine of Swords

According to Ward, the Nine of Swords suggests there’s some deep-seated anxiety coursing through you, and you must speak it out to work it out.

Remember, fire folk, words are spells — and when pain is shared, it is halved.

“Maybe you can offload some of this by positioning it as ‘retrograde angst,’ just as a dialogue opener with someone you trust. Earth signs — Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn

The Moon

Earth signs tend to favor the practical and the tangible, yet the moon deals in all that is unseen and uncertain.

“The moon is a card of secrets, lies and illusions, all of which will be dispelled by an indiscreet conversation or revelation in the next three weeks. Tune in, identify the discrepancy, and pull on that thread,” said Ward.

She notes that what you unravel will help you tell a new story about an old wound.

Air signs — Gemini, Libra, Aquarius

Mercury Retrograde is particularly impactful for air signs, as it affects the areas of their expertise, including communication, technology, business and travel.

An adaptable lot, air folk can experience this retrograde for the opening that it is.

“Chaos creates opportunity, and because you’re so fleet of thought (and foot), you’re often first on the scene to pick up the gems and establish yourself in the new order,” shared Ward.

“Be proactive right now. the Four of Wands brings you new options for progression, promotion, and advancement. Even if they arise from challenging situations, you can make it work. “

Water signs — Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces

While Mercury retrograde transits often compromise relationships, Ward shared that for water signs, miscommunication can lead to unexpected revelations.

“A miscommunication in your realm could reveal a truth you need to hear, clearing the air or showing an attraction you didn’t know was percolating. Words missaid are often more interesting than practiced conversation.”

She urges water sings to be open to weird chats, rabbit holes and discord with strangers and those they typically tread carefully around.

“Somehow, the crossed wires or mixed signals will add up to a new message that lights up your relationship realm, maybe even triggering a falling-in-love moment!”
