Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have NYC lunch date with Serena Williams

After being named Humanitarians of the Year, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry celebrated by stepping out for lunch with her longtime pal Serena Williams.

The Duchess of Sussex, 44, was pictured arriving at New York City’s Soho House for the mid-day outing on Friday, rocking a blue and white striped blouse with navy blue wide-legged pants.

She layered the stylish look with a brown overcoat and matching suede stiletto heels, and accessorized with a stack of gold bracelets and a pair of discreet earrings. Markle kept a low profile in a pair of sunglasses, and wore her hair in an understated classic bun.

The mom of two carried a white leather handbag with brown handles to complete the look for Friday’s outing with the tennis legend and her husband.

Markle and Williams, also 44, have been fast friends since 2014, when they reconnected after first meeting at the 2010 Super Bowl. The BFFs were spotted linking arms after grabbing lunch in Montecito — where Markle and Harry own a massive estate — in March.

The Duchess of Sussex’s lunch date came just a day after she and her husband made a rare appearance at the Project Healthy Mind Gala in New York on Thursday evening.

The royal couple held hands on the red carpet, where they twinned in coordinating suit looks — Markle turned heads in a plunging Armani blazer.

At one point, Prince Harry affectionately placed his hands on his wife’s backside as photographers snapped photos.

Inside the event, they were honored as Humanitarians of the Year for their Archewell Foundation work in making the digital space safer for families and youth.

The “Suits” alum later took to Instagram to praise her husband for keeping her spirits up amid World Mental Health Day. Alongside a video clip of the pair laughing backstage at the event, the As Ever lifestyle brand founder wrote, “Happy World Mental Health Day …to the man who always keeps me laughing.”

The couple was spotted at Project Healthy Minds World Mental Health Day Festival at Spring Studios on Friday, as well.

A source recently divulged to Page Six that the Duchess of Sussex has been supporting her husband’s efforts to reconcile with King Charles and the royal family amid an ongoing rift.

The conflict stems from the couple’s decision to quit their royal family duties in 2020 and move to Montecito, where they’re now raising Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4.

“They need the [royal] family,” an insider told us. “Meghan is aware of that.”

The source added, “Meghan knows that Harry won’t be returning to royal duties, but on a human, personal level, [she wants for him to be] able to get on good terms with his father.”
