“Ellen was really weird and not nice to me for most of my career,” said Cho, 56.
“I opened for her in the 1980s, when she was a headliner in comedy clubs, way before her big fame,” Cho recalled of DeGeneres, 67. “So then later, when I would do her talk show in the 2000s, she acted like we just met.”
Cho added: “And I’m like, ‘B–ch, what?’ Like that’s weird. We go way back. It’s so creepy and weird.”
“Also the other thing was David Bowie had been on [DeGeneres’] show and he was so excited that the night before that I had come to his show wearing this giant Chinese Emperor outfit,” Cho remembered. ” He was really thrilled about it and he talked at length about it — and she cut it out of the show. Which made me so mad.”
“The producer, who’s a really good friend of mine, had to call me and tell me, ‘I can’t believe she did this, but she cut it out of the show,’” Cho shared. “‘But you need to know that he was going on and on about your outfit. He loves you. God said your name.’”
Cho called the alleged incident “so rude,” adding, “I don’t know if it was personal, maybe it [cut] was for time. But still, I’m going to take it personally just because I decided to.”
The Post has reached out to DeGeneres’ rep for comment.
Cho previously called DeGeneres “scary” while discussing DeGeneres’ 2020 talk show toxic workplace scandal on the “Hot Takes and Deep Dives” podcast.
“I think she definitely is scary. I’m still scared of Ellen,” said Cho. “Everyone should be scared of Ellen.”
DeGeneres ended her eponymous talk show with Season 19 in May 2022 following toxic workplace claims.
In 2020, current and former staffers spoke anonymously about their alleged experience on set of the talk show for a BuzzFeed News report. She apologized to staff at the time and producers Ed Glavin, Kevin Leman and Jonathan Norman exited the show.
Last year, in the final stand-up special of her career, DeGeneres touched on the controversies, claiming she was “kicked out of show business” after reports alleged the star wasn’t as friendly in real life as her on-air persona.
Like Cho, other stars including Rosie O’Donnell and “The Bachelorette” alum Ali Fedotowsky have called out DeGeneres for her alleged bad behavior over the years.
DeGeneres currently lives in the UK with her wife, Portia de Rossi, after fleeing the US following Donald Trump’s reelection.
