“I’m going to continue them because one person shouldn’t ruin it for everyone,” Morris said, adding, “Please know I’m there to connect, share, hug, all the things but please don’t override someone’s personal space. Love you.”
Morris, who is on her Dreamsicle Tour, performed in Grand Rapids, Michigan the night of the incident.
She shared an instagram post with photos from the concert afterwards, writing, “thank you for a beautiful garden venue, a perfect sunset and for selling the damn show out. we can’t wait to come back.”
The North American leg of Morris’ tour began on May 30 in West Hollywood, Calif. and will wrap in September, followed by the European leg that kicks off in November.
The tour is in support of her “Dreamsicle” studio album that was released May 9.
In March, Morris revealed that the album was “cathartic” for her following her divorce from husband Ryan Hurd.
“I feel like if it doesn’t feel like a risk, it’s probably not worth doing,” she told People about the project. “So I tried to leave enough on the bone to satisfy my healing.”
But also I’m not here to make a villain out of anyone or a hero out of myself,” the singer continued. “We all have both inside of us, so I just wanted to tell whatever would heal my heart. So that’s my aim here.”
Morris also shared that making the album involved “a lot of like ugly crying, a lot of manic laughter, the whole spectrum.”
The Grammy Award winner split from Hurd, 38, in Oct. 2023 after five years of marriage. The singers finalized their divorce in 2024 and agreed to join custody of their son Hayes, 5.
In June, Morris said on Chelsea Handler’s podcast that the exes “moved past” a lot of their issues and “get along now.”
“We’re neighbors, and I’m just so fortunate that we have put our son above each other’s s–t, and it’s better for the two of us if we’re getting along,” she explained.
