Maniac who randomly slapped boy, 6, at Bryant Park’s Winter Village has 17 prior busts: cops



The maniac accused of randomly slapping a 6-year-old boy in Bryant Park’s Winter Village on Sunday was charged with felony assault – as cops revealed he has more than a dozen prior arrests dating back a decade. 

David Silva, 42, of the Bronx — who has 17 previous busts on his record — whacked the youngster across the face without warning around 4:50 p.m. as the boy and his dad strolled around the buzzing holiday market, authorities and sources said.

Silva – a complete stranger to the child – was arrested a short time later and also faces charges for acting in a manner injurious to a child, menacing and harassment, cops said.

His most recent previous arrest was in June 2024 for hurling eggs at a stranger in Queens, police said. 

He approached that victim, a 38-year-old woman, at Roosevelt Avenue and 81st Street in Jackson Heights around 8:30 p.m. and asked her for money, authorities said. 

When the woman refused to give him anything, he got angry, reached into her cart and grabbed eggs that he chucked at her, causing pain, police said.

He was charged with misdemeanor assault, cops said. 

The disposition of that case was not immediately known. 

Most of Silva’s previous arrest history has been for misdemeanor assaults, authorities said.

His record stretches back to November of 2015, when he was arrested for disorderly conduct, police said. 

His arraignment in the attack on the 6-year-old – who was not seriously injured and treated at a police precinct – was pending Monday afternoon.
