Mamdani allies’ ugly agenda for soaring disorder in the streets, subways AND schools

Even as Zohran Mamdani tries to assure voters that he’s really not that radical on core issues of public safety, his longtime allies are laying out the insane agenda they have every reason to expect him to pursue.

And it’s not just his Democratic Socialist buddies: The New York Civil Liberties Union just released its “Civil Rights Agenda” for the next mayor, a blueprint for soaring crime and disorder.

This recipe for madness calls for passage of the New York City Trust Act, empowering illegal aliens — even violent criminals — to sue the city if anyone tells ICE of their presence at Rikers or in the court system.

It also mandates the firing of cops and corrections officers serving on joint task forces for tipping off their federal colleagues that a known gang member or convicted criminal is in custody.

The agenda also demands an absolute end to anything resembling broken-windows policing, a vendetta that would also ax the NYPD’s current emphasis on quality-of-life policing.

Street disorder such as graffiti, public drinking, gambling and drug use, insists the NYCLU, does not make neighborhoods less safe.

Broken-windows policing just lets racist cops be more racist, the group claims, giving the (majority non-white!) NYPD an excuse to go hog-wild beating up minorities.

Hogwash! Proactive policing in response to street disorder is what saved New York from the era of 2,000 murders a year.

Mamdani doesn’t know about those bad old days, however: He came to America in the middle of Rudy Giuliani’s second term, when the number of homicides had fallen to a 30-year low, on its way down to ever-better records before the trend started reversing under Mayor Bill de Blasio.

And the lunacy doesn’t stop with the NYPD: The NYCLU also frets that enforcement of the school cell-phone ban will inevitably be racist.

“Black students,” it projects, “are most likely to be hit with harsh discipline for misbehavior,” a disparity that “contributes to the school-to-prison pipeline.”

More hogwash! There is no “school-to-prison pipeline,” but only a crime-to-prison pipeline.

And kids allowed to seriously misbehave in school are more likely to misbehave out of school.

Plus, the NYCLU’s so-called reasoning would sacrifice the education of hundreds of thousands of kids (mostly minority!) in the name of combatting the racists it apparently thinks are running the city’s schools.

How likely is Mamdani to follow this advice? Well, the group also demands that the city hospital system “continue to deliver gender-affirming care, including to young people,” and guess what: Mamdani has already promised to pay for sex-change operations for all, including kids who run away from home.

The NYCLU’s overriding goal has long been to maximize the “liberty” of the most completely dysfunctional among us, from hardened criminals to sex-trafficking pimps to the most dangerously deranged street people — while eternally insisting that the only folks who want safe neighborhoods are authoritarian, puritanical bigots.

Mamdani’s stopped saying the quiet part out loud, but just try getting him to condemn his buddies’ agenda: When he instead changes the subject, you’ll know it’s his agenda, too.
