Long Island kid robbed by armed teen punks who used social media ad to trick him: officials
A crew of armed teen thugs lured a 17-year-old Long Island resident with a promise to buy merchandise the victim advertised online — only to pull out guns and make off with $6,000 in goods, prosecutors said.
Isaac Brutus, 19, Aubre Vandunk, 18, and two younger punks allegedly arranged the bait-and-switch.

Police said they agreed to meet the teen victim outside a Middle Island apartment complex to buy the high-end clothing on Oct. 9 — before they tried to steal their car and scuffled with them before taking off with the merchandise, Suffolk County prosecutors said.

But cops quickly tracked down the crew with the help of a police canine — and they surrendered after a brief standoff with police, the DA’s office said.
“Gunpoint robberies such as the crime alleged here will not be tolerated in Suffolk County,” District Attorney Ray Tierney said in a statement Wednesday. “My office is committed to holding those who use guns to commit crimes fully accountable and to protecting the safety of Suffolk County residents.”
The gunmen, including a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old who were not identified because they are minors, met the victim to make the transaction around 5 p.m., but things quickly went sour.
Brutus tried to steal the victim’s car when the guns came out and they pulled off the heist, the DA said.
When cops tracked them down to their hiding spot they found three loaded illegal handguns and a BB gun doctored to look like a legit firearm — along with the stolen property.

All four suspects were arraigned on felony robbery and a slew of weapons charges.
Acting Supreme Court Justice Karen Kerr ordered all four to be held on $250,000 cash bail or partially secured bonds of up to $2.5 million, the district attorney’s office said.
The 16-year-old suspect is due back in court on today, while Vandunk and the 17-year-old are scheduled to return to court on Dec. 1, and Brutus on Dec. 8.
