Lily Allen stuns in ‘revenge’ lingerie look at 2025 CFDA Awards

Lily Allen made a jaw-dropping entrance at the 2025 CFDA Fashion Awards Monday night in New York City, stepping out in a daring lingerie-inspired ensemble.
The British singer, 40, arrived at the American Museum of Natural History in an all-ivory look from emerging designer Colleen Allen’s spring 2026 collection.

The barely-there outfit consisted of a delicate lace-trimmed bralette, a silk maxi skirt with a sheer back panel and a matching opera coat draped off her shoulders.
Fans flooded social media with reactions to Allen’s bold look, with one commenting, “Revenge dressing at its finest…slay 🙌🏼.”
Allen wore her signature blunt bangs with an elegant updo created by hairstylist Bob Recine, finishing the look with an array of gold earrings.
Allen’s appearance came on the heels of the release of her buzzy fifth studio album, “West End Girl,” which recounts in unsparing detail the breakdown of her marriage to “Stranger Things” actor David Harbour. The couple, who wed in Las Vegas in September 2020, confirmed their separation in February.
“If it makes David Harbour lose sleep it’s a win,” one fan quipped in the comments.
The 14-track album, written in just 10 days last December, has received critical acclaim and five-star reviews for its raw honesty about betrayal and heartbreak.
“Free of her husband free of clothes just free ….😂😂😂,” one Instagram user joked, while another cheered, “Yass! Loving this real-time karma 🍿”
Not everyone was on board with Allen’s risqué fashion choices, however. “Can we normalize wearing clothes again, please?” one critic commented.
Allen’s skin-baring moment also follows a candid Perfect magazine interview, in which she opened up about her recent weight struggles and breast augmentation procedure.
“I got really, really thin when I was feeling at my lowest, in the past year or so. Or longer, actually,” she told the publication. “And I knew that I had to gain weight. And I’ve always been bottom-heavy and so I had a fear that if I was to gain weight, my body would feel out of proportion.”
She continued, “And so I felt like, why not gift myself a get-out clause? Make it feel more enticing.”
Allen also discussed her newfound acceptance of her body, telling the magazine: “I feel like I’m comfortable with my body in a way that I haven’t been for most of my adult life. I work out five times a week. I’m proud of the effort and energy I put into my health.”
The star-studded CFDA ceremony, hosted by Teyana Taylor, honored prominent figures in American fashion, including A$AP Rocky, who received the Fashion Icon Award, and Ralph Lauren, who took home American Womenswear Designer of the Year.
Colleen Allen, who designed the singer’s showstopping look, was nominated for the Google Shopping American Emerging Designer of the Year award but lost to Ashlynn Park. Still, her design for Allen was one of the evening’s most talked-about moments.
