“We believe in our players, we go for it on fourth down a lot, glad to have made the plays. I’m looking for Whit right now to see if we covered the over,” a grinning Kiffin told ESPN.
On Monday, the same day Landry made her romance with Weeks Instagram official, Kiffin weighed in on how fans should approach Saturday’s SEC clash of the undefeateds.
“I really love College Football Lane Kiffin’s daughter, Landry, letting the public know she’s dating LSU LB Whit Weeks, 5 days before LSU and Ole Miss play? This is peak mind games,” Outkick’s senior college sports reporter Trey Wallace posted on X, to which Kiffin replied, “Take the over.”
Landry, a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority at Ole Miss, showed support for Weeks on Saturday in her game-day attire, adding a patch of his No. 40 jersey number to her polka-dotted mini dress.
She was seen in social media videos celebrating on the field at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Miss., after the game.
Weeks, a junior out of Watkinsville, Georgia, recorded 10 tackles against Ole Miss. He has seven solo tackles on the season and 0.5 sacks.
Kiffin tipped his hat to quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, who went 23-of-39 for 314 yards, one touchdown and one interception while starting in place of injured QB Austin Simmons. He also rushed for 71 yards.
“We have two really good quarterbacks. That’s a really good thing to have. You see around the country, people usually when they lose their quarterback, their team changes a lot. And Austin got hurt, and we’re still able to play the way that we played,” Kiffin said.
Ole Miss is on the bye next week and will face Washington State on Saturday, Oct. 11.
