Lamar Jackson could be sidelined multiple games in Ravens injury blow
The Ravens could be without their MVP-winning quarterback for the near future.
Lamar Jackson will likely sit out of Baltimore’s Week 5 matchup against Houston at home on Sunday after sustaining a hamstring injury in the team’s loss to the Chiefs in Week 4, The Baltimore Sun reported Tuesday.

Although details surrounding an actual timetable are unclear, a source relayed to the outlet that “given the nature of the injury, he also could be out for up to two to three weeks.” However, an insider indicated Jackson 28, “will try to see if he could return in time for Sunday.”
Jackson exited the Ravens’ 37-20 defeat in Kansas City in the third quarter.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh told reporters Monday “there was no way” Jackson, 28, would re-enter the game.

“The injury precluded it. The way I know Lamar, if he could’ve gone in the game, he would’ve been in the game. That’s how he is,” Harbaugh said.
Jackson went 14 of 20 for 147 yards, one touchdown and one interception before backup quarterback Cooper Rush entered in relief.
It’s possible Rush, 31, gets the go-ahead for Sunday against a 1-3 Texans team.
“Everybody kind of knows what his game is, and he can play that game and that game is part of what we do,” Harbaugh said of Rush, who joined the Ravens in free agency earlier this year. “If he’s out there, it will be geared toward him. We’ve got a good group around him. We have a lot of playmakers around him if he’s playing. Same thing for [No. 3 QB] Tyler Huntley if he’s playing.”
The Ravens, now 1-3 following Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs, have been hampered by injuries.
Defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike is out for the remainder of the season due to a neck injury. Linebacker Roquan Smith is set to miss multiple weeks amid a hamstring strain, along with cornerback Marlon Humphrey, nursing a calf injury, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The Ravens will host the Rams on Oct. 12 following their game against the Texans before entering the bye in Week 7.
