Kim Kardashian Feared Critically-Panned ‘All’s Fair’ Wouldn’t “Hit” On Her Last Day Of Filming: “I’ve Taken All The Risks”
Kim Kardashian shared concerns about whether All’s Fair would land well among audiences before its premiere.
In the latest episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians—titled “Tragedy in Reality TV”—cameras follow Kardashian on her last day of filming Ryan Murphy‘s scripted series, All’s Fair, in which she starred alongside Sarah Paulson, Glenn Close, Niecy Nash-Betts, and Teyana Taylor.

Sitting in her trailer, Kardashian wonders whether the show will be a hit.
“Here’s the thing [with] these shows. It is not guaranteed that it’s going to be a hit, so you put your heart and soul and your time into something, and what if it doesn’t hit? Then what was this for?” she said. “Obviously, everything in life is you have to take risks to get there. But I’ve taken all the risks. I’ve made it.”
The SKIMs founder’s nightmare became a reality earlier this month when All’s Fair premiered with a 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and was overwhelmingly panned by critics (with the exception of Decider, which gave the series a resounding STREAM IT).
However, Kardashian seemingly took the negative reviews with a grain of salt. In a recent Instagram post, the reality star posted a slideshow of positive reviews from fans—including a screenshot of the 0% rating—with the caption, “Have you tuned in to the most critically acclaimed show of the year!?!?!?”

According to Kardashian, there is more “pressure” in doing a scripted show than reality TV.
“There’s definitely a judging meter on, ‘You can act,’ or, ‘You are a bad actress,’” she says on The Kardashians. “Being on reality show, you’re just living your life the only way you know how. There’s not a meter of, like, [whether you’re] living a reality TV life well or not well.”
However, she noted, “To get people to like a character is probably easier than getting people to like you for who you are. You’re so excited that your life is finally together and calm, but the viewer’s pissed because it’s finally together and calm.”
New episodes of The Kardashians drop on Thursdays on Hulu.
