Since her days on “Gossip Girl,” the actress has cemented her reputation as a style and beauty icon in her own right — from collaborating with luxury labels to going viral with her elegant elevator selfies.
“I think we’re bombarded by so much information, and we’re being sold so many things all the time,” she tells Page Six Style. “So [I’m] loving just really simple fashion and simple skincare.”
The latter drove her recent partnership with Biosil, a Belgian skincare company she’d been a fan of for “a long time.”

And while her former co-star Ed Westwick joined her at the brand’s 30th anniversary celebration last week, don’t expect to see her wearing any of her old “Gossip Girl” garb any time soon. She tells us she kept “very few items” from set — including a special Swarovski ring — as she’d feel too much “like the character” if she re-wore anything from Lily van der Woodsen’s wardrobe.
“I’ve always loved fashion from the time I was very young,” she says. “I think fashion is part of acting … You can create the worlds you live in sometimes with what you wear.”
If you’ve been looking to add a little Rutherford-level glamour to your own world, read on for six of her must-haves — from classic cashmere to a French drugstore favorite.

“I love it. I use [it] over my base instead of wearing sunscreen. I’ve been wearing that for years.”

“I like the capsules because they’re easy. I know they also have the drops … I love both.”

“I love Veronique Gabai perfume. She comes from the south of France. The bottles are beautiful, they’e works of art. She also makes a necklace that you can wear …. you can put a sample sizes of perfume in so you can keep it with you and wear it. It’s beautiful.”

“There’s a book called ‘Wives Like Us’ that Plum Sykes wrote, which is a great read. I love her book.”

“There’s [a label] called Soft Goat that I love. It’s a beautiful cashmere brand.”

“I think [Jenni] does a beautiful job with with home products. She does things so simple and elegant.”
