“I’ve always loved reading books ever since I was little,” Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt tells Page Six. “Growing up, we would read as a family every night before bed and I loved that special time with my parents and my siblings.”

Schwarzenegger — whose new children’s book “Kat and Brandy” is on sale now — says she’s passed that tradition down to her three children.

“I love that our kids enjoy story time and the amazing life lessons that are in so many books,” she explains, adding that the conversations she and husband Chris Pratt have with their children while reading is something she keeps in mind while writing her own stories.

“Whether it’s reading at the breakfast table, out in nature or before bed, these special moments are ones that allow for a love for books from a very early age.”

“This is one of my favorite children’s books that my mom used to read to me and now I read to my kids. It is definitely a tearjerker, and I look at it differently now as a mom myself. It’s such a beautiful story and so simple and filled with love.”

“I wrote this book about overcoming your fears, courage and bravery. The book also touches on the healing power of animals and how they can help us work through something we are afraid of and help us overcome that fear. Whether it’s a horse, a rabbit or a dog, animals have the power to heal and calm us and this book touches on that and provides prompts for parents to have conversations with kids about their fears.”

“I read this book in high school and couldn’t put it down. I got lost in the whole world within the pages and the storytelling of F. Scott Fitzgerald was brilliant.”

"I Am Maria" book cover featuring a young Maria Shriver embracing a horse.

“My mom’s book on poetry that came out earlier this year is so deep and profound. I love it so much, not just because my mom wrote it, but because the way she writes always leaves me thinking and feeling in a totally unexpected way, which is such a talent. Plus I am a proud daughter and just am so proud of her for writing this book.”

“This is such a sweet children’s book that we love reading around the holiday season. My girls are constantly asking questions about animals and they love anything Christmas-oriented, so this was a perfect blend and a great and sweet real-life story about an owl in the city.”

“I’m obsessed with all her books and feel so lucky she was able to work on ‘Kat and Brandy’ with me. I found her illustrations from her book ‘Welcome to the World,’ but all of her books are stunning!”
