Although Middleton, 43, is no stranger to high-end labels, often stepping out in British brands like Victoria Beckham and Emilia Wickstead, this marks the first time she has dabbled in the French fashion house’s designs.

The Princess of Wales’ look was created by Maria Grazia Chiuri, Dior’s first female creative director, who stepped down from her role in May.

Chiuri drew inspiration from the original Bar jacket, which was incorporated into the late designer’s “New Look” collection in 1947.

Dior has a longstanding place in royal style, having been a favorite label of Princess Diana’s in the ’90s.

She famously attended the Met Gala in 1996, wearing a navy slip dress with black lace trim, designed by the brand’s then-creative director, John Galliano.

“I remember one day we all jumped into this old van, and we went to London, where we met Princess Diana,” Galliano reflected in Hulu’s docuseries, “In Vogue: The 90s.”

She’d been invited to the Met, and she would wear one of my dresses. It was like a blessing. I mean like, wow,” Galliano explained. “We went to Kensington Palace and discussed drawings.”

She styled the Galliano-designed piece with a blue satin “Lady Dior” bag, which the label named after her in 1996.

Meghan Markle has also stepped out in Dior, with one notable fashion moment being the long cream trench coat and wool skirt she wore to attend the Platinum Jubilee Thanksgiving service in 2022.

It’s safe to assume Middleton won’t be the last royal to sport the designer and we can’t wait to see if she keeps Dior in her rotation.

Let’s be honest—no matter how stressful the day gets, a good viral video can instantly lift your mood. Whether it’s a funny pet doing something silly, a heartwarming moment between strangers, or a wild dance challenge, viral videos are what keep the internet fun and alive.
