Karen Read jurors reached a verdict Wednesday afternoon.

Massachusetts Judge Beverly Cannone called both sides back to the Norfolk County Courthouse to update the defense and prosecutors about the latest twist in the case as anxiety mounts over whether Read will be found guilty of killing her Boston cop boyfriend John O’Keefe.

There was initially confusion.
At first, the jury told a court officer it had a verdict in the case.
“Shortly thereafter, they knocked again and said they didn’t have a verdict,” Cannone said.

This is the fourth day the jury has been deliberating over whether to convict or acquit Read of second-degree murder, manslaughter and leaving the scene of the accident causing death.
However, it was later revealed that the jury had in fact reached a verdict.
