Justin Fields runs onto field to put Jets injury worries to rest



Just one day after dislocating a toe in a major injury scare on the second day of training camp, Justin Fields was at least present on the practice field Friday — and that served as a promising sign.

He stretched — without any noticeable limp, even when jogging — with Gang Green, and wore his helmet while observing the other three quarterbacks during individual and team drills.

Fields, signed to a two-year, $40 million deal this offseason to become the Jets’ starter, exited Thursday’s practice in the front seat of a cart after a teammate stepped on his right foot and was later diagnosed with a dislocated toe in his right foot.

He is considered day-to-day after undergoing medical testing.

The Jets open their season against the Steelers at home on Sept. 7.
